Disturbance on Fenno-Skan 1, Fenno-Skan 2 and Estlink 1 high-voltage direct current (HVDC) link

Fenno-Skan 1 and 2 interconnections between Finland and Sweden tripped today 3th June 2013 at 7:29 and 7:40. The common disturbance was caused by a failure of the auxiliary supply at Rauma substation. Estlink 1 interconnection between Finland and Estonia tripped right after Fenno-Skans at 8:00 by unknown reason.

Because of failures, 560 MW gas turbines were started and 250 MW special regulation were made.

All connections were back in operation during morning. Failures did not causes effect for end-users.
