New main transformers for Salo and Lieto
Fingrid Oyj, which is responsible for the main electricity transmission grid in Finland, has ordered two new main transformers from ABB Oy. The total costs of the project are approx. 5.5 million euros.ABB will deliver the new main transformer for the extension of the Salo substation in October 2005. Because of the basic renovation of one of the two existing transformers at the Lieto substation, this substation will require a new main transformer to be supplied by ABB in July 2005. The contract signed between Fingrid and ABB also contains an option for the supply of yet another main transformer in 2006. The transformers will be manufactured at ABB's Ludvika factory in Sweden. Fingrid currently has about 40 similar transformers at grid substations in different parts of Finland. Further information:Fingrid Oyj, Martti Heinonen, + 358 (0)30 395 5124
