Transmission reservations on the Russian cross-border connections confirmed

200 megawatts (MW) of transmission capacity on the Russian cross-border connections of Fingrid Oyj, which is responsible for the main electricity transmission grid in Finland, have been confirmed for two new importers.Based on an account supplied by RAO EES Rossii, which is responsible for grid transmission and cross-border transmission in Russia, Fingrid has confirmed a transmission reservation of 150 megawatts for Sempra Energy Europe Limited and a transmission reservation of 50 megawatts for Vantaan Energia Oy.

The transmission reservations will become effective as of the beginning of 2002.

The total commercial capacity of 900 megawatts on the cross-border connections has now been reserved as of the beginning of 2002. Fingrid will inform separately of transmission capacity which becomes available later.
