Fingrid securing electricity supply to Outokumpu's Harjavalta mill

Fingrid Oyj, which is responsible for the main electricity transmission grid in Finland, will have a transmission line of approximately 5 kilometres built between the mill of Outokumpu Harjavalta Metals Oy and Arantila in Nakkila. The new connection will secure electricity supply to the mill especially during service and fault situations. The foundation work on this line to be complete in May will be launched during week 4.The building of the transmission line will involve the building of another circuit from Outokumpu's Harjavalta mill to Arantila in Nakkila, close to the railway, where the new line section will be connected to the 110 kilovolt transmission line running between Rauma and Ulvila. In addition to the building of the new line of approximately 5 kilometres, some changes will be made to the existing lines.

The new line will secure electricity supply to the mill during service and fault situations. The contractor in this project costing approximately EUR 1 million is Suomen Voimatekniikka Oy.
