Fingrid procures 120 MW of FCR-D downwards during Q4

The procurement volume of the Frequency Containment Reserve for Disturbances Downwards (FCR-D downwards) for the time period 1.10.-31.12. is 120 MW. The volume is the same as during Q3.

During Q3, there has been occasional scarcity in the offered volume and the bids on the Finnish market have not always been sufficient to cover the current procurement volume. Fingrid also procures FCR-D down from neighbouring countries. The procurement volume will be increased when the offered volume on the market increases.

FCR-D downwards was implemented in the Nordics in the beginning of 2022. The needed volume in the Nordics is maximum 1400 MW, of which Fingrid’s share is approximately 280 MW. The market-based procurement will be increased gradually.
