Draft for comments: KJV2026 Grid code specifications for demand connections
Draft for comments: Grid Code Specifications for Demand Connections (KJV2026)
Fingrid will organize a public consultation during June–August 2026 on new grid code requirements for demand connections, KJV2026. The new requirements are based on the draft presented in June 2025 (see the appendix section of this page: “KJV2026 main requirements draft for stakeholders.pdf”), which has now been developed into the version presented here based on the feedback received during the consultation and additional information collected from stakeholders. The KJV2026 document for consultation will be added to this page in June 2026.
KJV2026 introduces significant technical requirements for demand facilities exceeding 30 MW, such as data centers, electric boilers, and electrolyzer plants. Large demand facilities will be required to demonstrate, among other things, improved disturbance tolerance (fault ride-through capability) and the ability to limit the power they draw from the grid.
After the summer 2026 consultation, Fingrid will make the necessary amendments and clarifications to the KJV2026 draft, after which the requirement document will be submitted to the Energy Authority for approval. The target schedule for the confirmation (entry into force) of KJV2026 is March 2027.
