Monitoring and Reporting on Occupational Safety
Fingrid's goal is zero accidents. We monitor the occupational safety indicators of both our own personnel and suppliers.
We track both reactive and proactive safety metrics. Proactive metrics provide information about the work done for safety and hidden hazards, allowing us to address issues before anything happens. Reactive metrics report on already occurred safety deviations. Among other things Fingrid uses the following safety metrics:
Reactive:
- Accident frequency rate
- Number of lost time injuries
- Number of serious workplace accidents
- Number of commuting accidents
- Near miss incidents
Proactive:
- Number of safety observations
- MVR indicator
- Number of responsibility audits
- Number of safety toolbox talks
- Number of risk assessments
Safety observations provide information about hidden hazards and help us improve our operations to be safer. Every observation is important and all observations are handled positively. Observations can be made either by logging into the Fingrid’s HSEQ system or without a user account at www.fingrid.fi/havainto.
