One-price system

In the one-price system, the purchase and sales prices of imbalance energy are identical.

During an up-regulating period, the price of imbalance energy is the up-regulating price, and during a down-regulating period, the price of imbalance energy is the down-regulating price. The price is determined based on the activated regulation bids in the mFRR and aFRR energy markets. If no regulations have been carried out during an period, the price of imbalance energy is the value of avoided activation of mFRR.

On May 22, 2023, Finland switched to a 15-minute imbalance settlement period, the imbalance price will be the same every quarter of an hour. On March 19, 2025, pricing switched to a 15-minute imbalance settlement period.
