Fingrid receives an award from the Climate Bonds Initiative

Climate Bonds Initiative awarded Fingrid a certificate in recognition of creating the First Corporate Green Bond in Finland. Fingrid's inaugural Green Bond, issued in November 2017, was also accepted to Climate Bonds Initiative's global library for labelled Green Bonds. The proceeds from the Green Bond are used to finance Figrid's investments with expected long-term net positive environmental impacts.

"As the first Finnish corporate issuer of Green Bonds Fingrid is paving the way for further corporate issues from Finland. This pioneer award is a recognition on the efforts made by the company contributing to the development of Green Bonds markets in Finland and the Nordic Region" says Manuel Adamini, Director, Climate Bonds Initiative.

The Awards are in recognition of organisations, financial institutions and government bodies and individuals who have led the development of green finance and green bond markets in the past year and through their pioneering initiatives and issuance have provided positive examples of climate resilient and low carbon investment.

The award was presented to Fingrid 9 May 2018 in London.
