Fingrid appeals against a decision of the Energy Market Authority

Fingrid Oyj has lodged an appeal with the Market Court against a decision issued by the Energy Market Authority concerning the proceeds of grid operation and fees levied on the transmission service. Regional network companies and distribution network companies have submitted their own joint appeal concerning a corresponding decision. When assessing a reasonable fee, the supervision model applied by the Energy Market Authority needs to take into account the special characteristics of Fingrid’s operations as well as the new obligations of domestic and EU-level regulation and risks affecting its position. These should be considered by applying a specific additional risk premium. The other items in the appeal are related to the handling of financial assets and receivables as well as specification of efficiency and cost incentives.   Further information: Matti Tähtinen, Senior Vice President, tel. +358 (0)30 395 5180.
