Fenno-Skan 1 tasasähköyhteyden kaapelivian korjaus etenee

Fenno-Skan 1 kaapelin korjausalus Topaz Installer on saapunut kaapelin vikapaikalle Suomen rannikolle ja aloittanut korjaustyöt. Laivalla on mukana muutama kilometri varakaapelia, jolla vikaantunut kaapeli korvataan ja tehdään jatkos kumpaankin päähän. Yhden jatkoksen teko kestää noin viikon. Jäätilanteesta johtuen kaapelin korjaus on hieman viivästynyt. Uuden arvion mukaan kaapeli pyritään saamaan korjattua 17.4.2013 mennessä. Korjauksen eteneminen riippuu sääolosuhteista alueella.
Suomen ja Ruotsin välinen 550 megawatin tasasähköyhteys Fenno-Skan 1 laukesi verkosta tiistai-iltana 12.2.2013 klo 19.42. Vikapaikka on paikallistettu sukeltamalla ja mittauksilla Suomen rannikolle lähelle Rihtniemeä. Kaapeli on vaurioitunut sisäisen vian aiheuttamana.
