Fenno-Skan merikaapelin vika-alue paikannettu

Suomen ja Ruotsin väliseen meren alla kulkevaan sähkönsiirtokaapelin viime sunnuntaina tullut vika on paikannettu. Korjaustyötä päästään näillä näkymin aloittamaan viikon 6 lopulla. Töiden arvioidaan kestävän noin kolme viikkoa.

Siirtoteholtaan 550 MW (megawattia) suuruiseen Fenno-Skan tasasähkökaapeliin tullut maasulku laukaisi yhteyden verkosta viime sunnuntai-iltana. Vika-alue on paikannettu ja sukeltajat jatkavat tarkan vauriopaikan etsintää.

Kaapelin vikaantunut kohta on noin kolmen kilometrin päässä Rauman Rihtniemen kaapelipäätteestä. Samassa paikassa on muutama vuosi sitten sattuneen liikkuvien jäiden aiheuttaman kaapelivaurion korjausjatkos. Meren syvyys vikapaikalla on noin kaksikymmentä metriä.

Kaapelin korjaustöiden valmistelut on aloitettu ja työt korjausalukselta alkavat viikon 6 lopulla. Korjaustöiden kestoon vaikuttavat mm. alueen tuuliolosuhteet.
