Kantaverkon varamuuntaja varmistaa myös alueellista sähkönsiirtoa

Suomen sähköjärjestelmän teknisestä toimivuudesta vastaavan kantaverkkoyhtiö Fingrid Oyj:n Toivilan sähköasemalla on käynnistynyt laajennustyö. Vuonna 1992 rakennetulle sähköasemalle siirretään ensi syksynä uusi 400 kV/400 MW suurmuuntaja, joka toimii kantaverkon kaikkien suurmuuntajien varamuuntajana ja varmistaa samalla alueen sähkönsiirtoa. Marraskuussa valmistuvan hankkeen kokonaishinta on noin 22 miljoonaa markkaa.

Jämsän Toivila valittiin varamuuntajan sijoituspaikaksi alueen maantieteellisesti keskeisen sijainnin vuoksi. Uutta muuntajaa varten rakennetaan perustukset ja suoja-allas ja sen verkkoon liittämiseksi aseman 400 ja 110 kV kytkinlaitoksia laajennetaan. Kaikki työt tehdään aseman nykyisen, aidatun alueen sisäpuolella. Suurmuuntaja siirretään rautatie- ja maantie-erikoiskuljetuksena ensi syksynä ABB Transmit Oy:n tehtaalta Vaasasta.

Laajennustyön pääurakoitsija on Siemens Osakeyhtiö. Rakennustyöt tekee IVO Transmission Engineering Oy ja asennustyöt Fortum Service Oy.
