Svenska Kraftnät osakkaaksi EL-EX Sähköpörssiin

Viime marraskuussa tehdyn aiesopimuksen mukaisesti Suomen Kantaverkko Oyj (Fingrid) myi perjantaina 8.5.1998 osan EL-EX Sähköpörssi Oy:n (EL-EX) osakekannasta Ruotsin kantaverkkoyritykselle Svenska Kraftnätille (SvK). Kaupan jälkeen Fingrid ja SvK omistavat EL-EXistä kumpikin 50 %.

Omistusjärjestely on osa Suomen integrointia pohjoismaisiin sähkömarkkinoihin. EL-EX ryhtyy välittämään 15. kesäkuuta alkaen norjalais-ruotsalaisen Nord Poolin sähköpörssipalveluja Suomessa. EL-EXin tarkoituksena on lisäksi kehittää pohjoismaisiin tarpeisiin uusi lyhyen aikavälin jatkuvatoiminen kauppapaikka, joka täydentäisi Nord Poolin tarjoamaa tuotevalikoimaa.

Fingridin ja SvK:n tavoitteena on yhdessä Norjan verkkoyhtiön Statnettin kanssa kehittää pörssiyhteistyötä siten, että Nord Pool ja EL-EX muodostaisivat aikanaan omistuksellisesti yhden kokonaisuuden. Nord Poolin omistus jakautuu tällä hetkellä tasan SvK:n ja Statnettin kesken.
