Failure on Fenno-Skan 2 interconnection
Fenno-Skan 2 interconnection between Finland and Sweden tripped from full 800 MW import power in the evening 20th March 2014 at 21.55 (eet). The connection is out of operation until further notice. The accurate fault localization continues in cooperation between Fingrid and Svenska Kraftnät.
Fingrid has purchased the missing power of the interconnection from own gasturbines, special regulation from balancing power market and through bilateral contracts from the Finnish market parties and from Russia.
Fenno-Skan 2 has been taken back to operation 21st March 2014 at 18.00 (eet). The reason of the failure is still unknown, but the survey will continue.
