Fenno-Skan 2 back in use

The Fenno-Skan 2 submarine cable has been repaired, and the high-voltage direct current (HVDC) link has been taken back in commercial use today 25 April in the morning for Elbas market. The capacity will be given to the Elspot market on the 26th of April.

There was a failure in the Fenno-Skan 2 submarine cable on 17 February as a result of damage caused by a ship’s anchor. The cable fault has been reflected in Finland as clearly higher area prices of electricity than in the other Nordic countries.
