Fenno-Skan 1 is out of market until the end of the year 2012

The fire on the 6th of October 2012 in the thyristor hall of Fenno-Skan 1 at the Swedish end caused damage among others in the fiber optic control cables. Due to the repair works the 550 megawatt capacity of Fenno-Skan 1 connection between Finland and Sweden is out of market until the end of 2012.​The 800 megawatt capacity of Fenno-Skan 2 connection  is normally in service between Finland and Sweden.
