Cable failure on Fenno-Skan 2 interconnection has been localized

The cable failure location on Fenno-Skan 2 interconnection between Finland and Sweden has been localized during the sea inspections 1st March 2012. The failure location is near Swedish coastline northwest of Örskär island roughly 41 kilometers from Dannebo substation.

The failure of the cable has been caused by an anchor of a vessel passing the area. The preparations of the repair works are already underway together with Svenska Kraftnät.

The repair works are estimated to be ready in the beginning of May 2012.
