Transmission reservations on the Russian cross-border connections for 2008 confirmed

As the transmission system operator in Finland, Fingrid offers capacity on the transmission connections from Russia for electricity import purposes to electricity market parties at equal, uniform and public principles. The commercial capacity of the Fingrid Oyj Russian cross-border connections 1300 MW is confirmed for four importing companies.The following companies are importing electricity from Fingrid Oyj Russian cross-border connections in 2008:

Confirmation has been issued based on an account supplied by JSC "FGC UES", Federal Grid Company of Russia. The Fingrid's transmission service contract periods will be limited to one year.
Fingrid has started a development work with Russian counterparty for more market-based approach to capacity allocation. The new market based transmission service principals are meant to be applied in the beginning of the year 2009.
