Main grid development plan for 2017 – 2027
In accordance with the Finnish Electricity Market Act, Fingrid has, as the main grid owner, compiled a ten-year main grid development plan concerning its main grid and the grid's connections to other electricity networks. The main grid development plan is the Finnish basis for the compilation of the EU-wide grid development plan stipulated in the EC regulation on cross-border exchanges in electricity.
The main grid development plan describes the main grid's development process and presents the development objects of the Finnish main grid, along with planned investments for 2017 – 2027.
The development plan is based on regional grid plans drawn up by Fingrid in cooperation with its customers. It is convergent with the grid plan for the Baltic Sea region and the Ten-Year Network Development Plan (TYNDP) covering the entire European Union.
