Peak load capacity 2018

January 2018

The peak load capacity costs for the grid service customers were 4,69 M€. The costs are charged according to the consumption of electricity during weekdays and during the day-time hours 7.00 a.m. - 9.00 p.m. The electricity consumption was 3 803 933 MWh, which is equal to the grid service winter weekday daytime consumption invoiced. The calculated peak load capacity fee is 1,232 €/MWh.

The peak load capacity was not started in January. Suomenoja heat pump and Naantali 1 powerplant were partly unavailable for the peak load arrangement. Finextra reduced the compensation paid to the Suomenoja heat pump by about 9 per cent and to Naantali power plant about 1 per cent. As defined in the Rules of Use, the Energy Authority will make the final decisions.
