Environmental policy
Fingrid Oyj is responsible for the operation, maintenance and development of the Finnish national grid and for the operation of the nation-wide power system. The company also sells grid services to the electricity market parties.

Objectives of Fingrid Group in order to identify the envrionmental impacts and to constantly improve the operations
- We ensure that responsibility for the management of environmental issues has been allocated precisely as part of our everyday operations. We will enhance the environmental awareness of our personnel through training and communications.
- We require and monitor that outside material and services suppliers follow the obligations given in environmental legislation and in our environmental policy.
- We prevent environmental damage through careful advance planning. In decision making concerning the building and maintenance of the tranmission system, we pay attention, alongside technical and financial conditions, to environmental impacts and expectations of society.
- We promote the sensible use of energy within our company and reduce the volume of waste generated as a result of our operations. We take care of the proper management of waste.
- We take care of the regular follow-up and assessment of our operations which have an impact on the environment.
- We follow and participate in environmental research supporting the operations of our company and communicate these issues to our interest groups.
- We communicate our environmental impacts openly to our interest groups.
